DESCRIPTION

 

ECCtreme™ ECA is a new type of perfluoroplastic, which is designed for high temperature applications up to 300°C, and at the same time has superior electrical and chemical resistance.ECCtreme™ ECA can be melted and processed at normal operating speeds through normal high-temperature fluoroplastic processing equipment, and at the same time it has the physical, electrical and chemical resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene.


What is the ECCtreme™ ECA family?

 

The ECCtreme™ ECA family is generally positioned as melt-processable, high-temperature fluoroplastic resins. The intent is to retain hallmark fluoropolymer benefits (chemical resistance, strong electrical performance, low friction, etc.) while extending the usable long-term temperature envelope for demanding applications.

 

The family also highlights that, under certain heat-treatment conditions, an ECC (epitaxial co-crystallization) structure may form. This can lead to performance shifts such as increased melting point, reduced melt flow (higher melt viscosity), and potentially improved resistance to stress cracking.

 

For engineering selection, a primary differentiator across ECA 2000 / 3000 / 4000 is commonly the melt-flow behavior (MFR) and the targeted part geometry: thin-wall/high-speed extrusion often benefits from higher MFR, while thick-wall extrusion and dimensional stability typically favor lower MFR.
